The domestic electricity installation

After listening the short explanation given by the teacher about the Electric power supply system, create a presentation document in which you answer the questions below.

The document has to be created using the Google Presentations program.

Save the document in a Google Drive folder named as follows:

Share this folder with your teacher, and allow him to edit the contents of the folder.

The presentation will have to be published at your personal blog.

Here below are the questions that you have to answer in your presentation:

1.What is the purpose of a domestic electric power supply installation? What are the characteristics (type, frequency and voltage) of the current supplied to homes?
2.What is the control and protection panel? What is its function?
3.In which room in your house is the control panel?
4.Observe the control panel in your house. Count the circuit breakers it has got and identify the type of circuit breaker they are. 
5.Prepare a representative drawing of the control and protection panel, indicating the name of each element.
6. In which room in your house is the control panel?
7. Sometimes, the circuit breakers at the control panel get suddenly disconnected. Do you remember any occasion that this happenned in your house. Why did it happen?
8.What are the small circuit breakers (SCB; PIAs in Catalan)? Why are there several SCBs at the control panel? Describe a case in which they could be useful.
9.Against what does the residual-current device or residual-current circuit breaker (RCD or RCCD; ID in Catalan) protect us? Why is it named differential? How can its correct functioning be tested?
10.What is the role of the master circuit breaker (MCB; IGA in Catalan)? Describe a scenario in which it is activated.
11.What is the mains isolator (MI; ICP in Catalan)? What is the threshold value of this circuit breaker?
12. Where are the wires that distribute the electric power in your house? Show a picture.
13. When distributing the wires in the several rooms of the house, where are the connections done? Show a picture.
14.How does a two-way switch light circuit operate? Make a schematic and a non-schematic drawing and explain with your own words what this circuit is like and how it works.

IMPORTANT: WRITE THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWER THEM. HOWEVER, DO NOT MAKE A PRESENTATION WITH JUST THE ANSWERS AND THE QUESTIONS. INSTEAD, CREATE KNOWLEDGE WHILE FINDIND INFORMATION TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. THEN, WITH THE NEW KNOWLEDGE YOU WILL GET, MAKE THE PRESENTATION ORGANIZING THE INFORMATION IN A WAY DESIGNED BY YOURSELF.
